personality
S'rei is the friendly sort of aloof; he tends not to take himself or situations too seriously on the surface, affecting more of an "I'm here so I'll be making the best of things" attitude. He doesn't like to show vulnerability or weakness, but likewise doesn't tend to get overly attached to people if he can help it. He's can be an odd sort of awkward in that way; it's obvious he's comfortable with breezing into new locations and chatting folks up, but never with the intention of staying long so he can be careless with his actions or words. This is a man who does not put down roots anywhere, with anyone, if he can help it. One-night interactions are his currency, and forming relationships beyond that is more a matter of circumstance than intention.
Despite not easily forming connections he comes off as warm and inviting, playful and even a little cheeky. He despises letting people see below that surface personality, largely because he hasn't even attempted to poke at any of the dark shadows lurking under the dinghy of his coping mechanisms. Being touched, experiencing passion, finding delight are all safe emotions to share; rage, grief, sadness, guilt, loneliness, these he bottles up and hides. He guards them with an offputting amount of pride, unwilling to share in the things that paint him as weak or incapable, and resentful of anyone who might catch a glimpse of them.
Outwardly, S'rei is an adventurer with a heart of gold and a helping hand always extended. Inwardly, he is prickly and prideful and desperately, infuriatingly lonely.

background
Mother: Nayla Armatus, 63
Father: S'rall Nunh (né Tia), 57
Sisters: S'iralle Dailemont (née Armatus), 34; S'ayla Southway (née Armatus), 26
S'rei was born the middle child and only son to Nayla and S'rall in a smaller village in the Black Shroud. His father S'rall was a castoff from the S tribe of the Seekers of the Sun; the traditional Seeker life didn't suit him well and he was far from the strongest contender for the Nunh title (which he didn't want anyway), so he left to find his own fortune. Nayla, meanwhile, was born and raised in the Shroud to a Seeker and Keeper couple who kept to themselves and did a little farming in the village. S'rall was far from the best adventurer, so one time he'd stumbled half-dead into the village looking for curatives, met Nayla, and never left. They were and still are very deeply in love; sometimes people comment that they seem to love each other even more than they love their own children.
S'rei's sisters both ended up leaving the village and farm as well, though there isn't any bad blood between any of the siblings or between the siblings and the parents. They are just all very different people with very different priorities. S'iralle went to Gridana and ended up marrying an elezen bowman with the Twin Adders, and S'ayla went to Limsa Lominsa and is expecting her first child already in a little fishing village. S'rei's parents were a little concerned about him going into adventuring at first, given how poorly it went for S'rall in the beginning, but they can very confidently say that there's nothing to worry about now. S'rei keeps in touch with them via letters every half-year or so, and while they care about each other they don't meet up very often. S'rei isn't torn up about it; even before he became a world-famous danger magnet, they didn't have much to say to one another, and it's better anyway if they don't know overly much about what he gets up to.
